India, Sept. 19 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced plans to develop an 870-acre technology hub at Naraj near Cuttack, to be known as 'Odisha Silicon Valley' for semiconductor, electronics and IT industries.

Majhi made the announcement at Semicon India 2026 in New Delhi, where Odisha also received investment proposals worth around Rs 23,600 crore with the potential to generate 6,100 jobs.

The proposed hub is strategically located along the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar urban corridor and has access to Paradip and Dhamra ports besides major national highways. According to the government, the connectivity could support semiconductor manufacturing, logistics and allied industries.
