India, July 1 -- A new patent filing has revived speculation about Yamaha's premium scooter, which could offer greater comfort and more equipment than the Aerox 155.

Yamaha has filed a design patent for the NMax 155 in India, adding weight to speculation that the premium maxi-scooter could finally make its way to the domestic market. The NMax 155 has been in Yamaha's global portfolio for years and shares much of its mechanical package with the Aerox 155 sold in India.

The Design patent does not confirm any launch, but still. if it gets introduced here, it would expand Yamaha's premium scooter line-up by offering a more practical alternative to the sport-focused Aerox.
