India, March 5 -- Ultraviolette Automotive has rolled out a new Battery as a Service (BaaS) programme for the X-47 electric motorcycle, changing how riders can buy the bike. With this new ownership model, the cost of the battery is separated from the price of the motorcycle. Because of this change, the Ultraviolette X-47 now starts at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers pay only for the motorcycle at the time of purchase and then subscribe to a battery usage plan separately. Since the battery pack forms a major part of an EV's cost, this move significantly lowers the entry price.
