India, Sept. 25 -- Tata Motors has launched the Aeris in India with prices starting at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a new nameplate to the compact sedan segment after the Tigor. The Aeris retains the sub-four-metre format and will take on established models such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The latter starts at Rs 6.30 lakh (ex-showroom), according to Maruti Suzuki's current website. Both cars offer petrol and CNG powertrains, along with manual and automated manual transmission options, but their approach to design, cabin equipment and engines is slightly different.
