India, Aug. 16 -- Porsche has revealed the Flachbau RS, a one-off based on the 2018 911 GT2 RS with the Weissach Package. The car was built through the Sonderwunsch programme and brings the flat-nose design from the Porsche 935 to the road-going 911. The project started after an owner asked Porsche to create a 911 GT2 RS with the Flachbau design. Development took close to three years and involved Sonderwunsch, Style Porsche, Porsche Motorsport, Weissach engineers and Manthey.

The name Flachbau dates back to Porsche's 911 Turbo programme from 1982 to 1989. Porsche built 948 cars with the flat-nose body during that period. The design was based on the Porsche 935 race car, which also influenced the new one-off.
