India, Sept. 30 -- The BMW 3 Series has entered its eighth generation, bringing the nameplate into the company's Neue Klasse era for the first time. The biggest change is the arrival of the fully electric BMW i3, which shares its basic design with the petrol-powered 3 Series rather than being treated as a separate-looking model. BMW will offer the electric saloon in two versions at launch, alongside petrol models using 48V mild-hybrid technology. The range will eventually expand further, including a plug-in hybrid version, while the M350 xDrive takes the top spot among the combustion-engined models.
