India, May 26 -- The MG Majestor is expected to rival the Toyota Fortuner with diesel power, multiple drive modes, and a feature-loaded cabin.

JSW MG Motor India has officially started production of the new MG Majestor at its Halol manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The upcoming full-size SUV will sit above the Gloster as the brand's flagship combustion-powered offering in India. Pre-bookings for the SUV are already underway at Rs 41,000, while prices are expected to fall between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Majestor will compete in the premium SUV segment against rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq.
