India, July 23 -- Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new AMG E 53 at a starting price of Rs 1.45 crore (ex-showroom), bringing the latest generation of its performance sedan to the country. The biggest talking point is the move to a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which delivers up to 603bhp with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package, an electric-only range of over 100km and a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds. Along with the new hybrid setup, the E 53 gets AMG-specific styling, chassis upgrades and a cabin loaded with technology, making it a major step forward over the previous model.
