India, Sept. 4 -- Kia has launched its first strong-hybrid vehicle in India, the Sorento, with prices starting at Rs 27.99 lakh and going up to Rs 40.39 lakh (ex-showroom).The three-row SUV is locally manufactured at Kia's Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh and gets both six- and seven-seat layouts. Buyers can choose between a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, with front- or all-wheel drive options.

The Sorento takes on the Toyota Innova Hycross, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron in India, while offering a long list of comfort and safety features.
