India, March 3 -- A design patent application has been filed in India for the Jetour T2-based plug-in hybrid SUV. The teaser released recently had already hinted, the upcoming model carries forward the sturdy design of the Jetour T2, the mid-size SUV sold overseas by Chery Automobile under its premium Jetour brand. Although the styling and platform appear to be the same, the India-bound SUV will be introduced here under the JSW Motors badge and have a different name. It will mark the first product from the joint venture between JSW Motors and Chery Automobile, making it JSW's first independent car launch separate from MG Motor India.
