India, June 9 -- BYD India unveils its DM-i hybrid platform with a combined range of 1,200 km. The first vehicle on the platform is confirmed for launch before 2027.

BYD India has introduced its Dual Mode Intelligent (DM-i) hybrid technology and confirmed that the first model based on the platform will arrive in the country before the end of 2026. The system brings together electric and petrol power, offers a claimed range of over 1,200 km, and promises fuel consumption of 4.8 litres per 100km (approx. 21km/l). As carmakers continue to explore different routes towards lower emissions, BYD believes the DM-i platform can provide Indian buyers with a practical alternative between conventional petrol vehicles and fully electric cars.
