India, Aug. 16 -- Aston Martin has unveiled the Valen at Monterey Car Week. The new model comes from the company's Special Vehicles Operations division and is based on the Vanquish. It gets a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, rear-wheel drive and changes to the chassis and bodywork. Aston Martin will build 150 units, with each car configured through its Q division. Prices start at around £1.5 million before options.

Weight reduction has also been part of the development. Carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium and magnesium help cut up to 110kg compared with the Vanquish. The optional lightweight package accounts for 16.9kg of this saving through machined aluminium suspension arms and knuckles, along with titanium chassis bolts.
