Pakistans expanding footprint in Bangladesh raises alarm for Indias eastern front, regional stability
Bangladesh, May 12 -- The visit of Pakistan Military Delegation led by Aurangzeb Ahmed to Dhaka at a sensitive geopolitical moment has triggered serious strategic concerns in India. Officially projected as a five-day “Air Staff Talk” to deepen military cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan, the visit comes against the backdrop of steadily increasing activities of Pakistans military-intelligence establishment inside Bangladesh following the political transition in Dhaka in August 2024. Given Pakistans long history of covert interference, proxy warfare, and ideological destabilization across the region, the timing and nature of this engagement are unlikely to be viewed as routine by Indias security establishment.
