Europes record heatwave leaves more than 10,000 dead, raising alarm over climate preparedness
Bangladesh, July 13 -- Europe is facing one of the deadliest heatwaves in its modern history, with official mortality monitoring data indicating that more than 10,000 excess deaths were recorded during the peak of last months extreme temperatures. The unprecedented heat has swept across much of Western Europe, shattering temperature records, fueling destructive wildfires, straining public infrastructure, and exposing the growing human cost of increasingly frequent climate extremes.
