Brussels now calls EU enlargement a ‘geopolitical imperative
Bangladesh, Oct. 9 -- The European Commission has now declared enlargement a “geopolitical imperative” - with important implications.
The bloc has just presented a package of reforms designed to prepare the Union for new members - with Ukraine and Moldova at the center of the effort, alongside Albania and Montenegro.
Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that “Europes future depends on the choices we make today,” framing expansion as essential to making the bloc “more resilient” and better able to shape its own destiny.
