Gangtok, Oct. 15 -- The Sikkim Governor appointment controversy has intensified after the Sikkim University Students' Association (SUSA) and lawyer-social activist M.B. Karki separately raised concerns over the appointment of Dushyant Kumar Gautam as the new Governor of Sikkim, calling for transparency and an impartial examination of allegations associated with the 2022 Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand.

The two statements have brought renewed attention to the appointment of the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary, with questions being raised about public confidence in the constitutional office of the Governor.
