India, Oct. 7 -- Zee5 is expanding its use of artificial intelligence (AI) for content discovery through Clips, a vertical short-video feature that converts selected moments from its long-form catalogue into short, swipe-led videos.

Developed by the Zee5 and Google Cloud teams, Clips uses a combination of Google Cloud technologies, including Gemini models, the Chirp multilingual model, Cloud Vision API and deep-learning models for image processing. The system analyses movies and shows to identify moments with potential for viewer engagement and automatically converts them into short, vertical clips.

The approach allows Zee5 to generate discovery content from its existing catalogue rather than producing separate short-form programming. A...
