India, May 19 -- Western Digital has announced the integration of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) into its latest high-capacity Ultrastar UltraSMR hard disk drives, marking a step towards strengthening infrastructure security for long-term data storage. The company said the new drives are currently undergoing qualification with multiple hyperscale customers, indicating early interest in storage systems designed to withstand future quantum computing threats.
