India, June 4 -- Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced a partnership with Meta to introduce Silent Mobile Verification (SMV) capabilities for Vi users across Meta platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. The move aims to support faster and more secure user authentication through a network-based verification process.
SMV is a telecom network-based authentication technology that verifies a user's mobile number in the background, without requiring manual entry of one-time passwords (OTPs) or verification codes. The system eliminates the need to switch between applications or wait for SMS-based authentication messages.
