India, Sept. 10 -- The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is moving Aadhaar Face Authentication closer to the application layer, launching a software development kit (SDK) and testing sandbox that could reduce the infrastructure and integration burden for banks, fintechs, telecom operators and other digital service providers.

Launched at the Global Fintech Fest 2026, the Aadhaar Face Authentication SDK allows organisations to embed UIDAI's face authentication capability directly into native Android and iOS applications. The move eliminates the earlier dependency on a separate FaceRD application for face authentication, allowing users to complete the process within the application they are already using.
