India, April 30 -- The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a consultation paper on the regulatory framework for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication, marking an important step towards building the digital communication layer for connected and intelligent mobility in India.

The paper follows a reference from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) dated 1 December 2025, seeking TRAI's recommendations on the regulatory mechanism for V2X communication.

The DoT reference was based on the recommendations of a task force constituted by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to examine industry standards, technical parameters, and frequency usage for V2X and Intelligent Transport Systems.
