SpaceX plans new USD 100 billion launch campus in Louisiana
India, Aug. 26 -- SpaceX plans to invest USD 100 billion in a new launch complex in Louisiana, creating what the state says will become the world's largest spaceport and significantly expand the company's capacity to launch its Starship vehicle.
The project, announced on 25 August by SpaceX and Louisiana officials, will be developed in Vermilion Parish on a 125,000-acre site near Pecan Island. SpaceX has named the facility Starbase Louisiana. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the first launch targeted for as early as 2029.
