SFLC.in highlights GAC role in digital rights cases
India, June 10 -- Delhi-based legal non-profit organisation SFLC.in (Software Freedom Law Center, India) has announced the restoration of a content creator's terminated YouTube channel following an appeal filed before India's Grievance Appellate Committee (GAC) through its digital rights helpline, RightsLine.
The case highlights growing concerns around content moderation, account suspensions, and grievance redressal mechanisms on digital and over-the-top (OTT) platforms, particularly for creators whose livelihoods depend on platforms such as YouTube.
According to SFLC.in, the channel was fully restored within four days of the appeal being filed, with all strikes removed and advertising revenue reinstated.
