India, Aug. 26 -- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced two measures aimed at strengthening the resilience of technology infrastructure underpinning the securities market. The measures require market infrastructure institutions (MIIs) to adopt a system-driven IT Resilience Index (ITRI) and align SEBI's cyber incident reporting portal with the Financial Stability Board's (FSB) Format for Incident Reporting Exchange (FIRE) framework.

The measures, issued through separate circulars on 24 August, are intended to improve the monitoring of critical IT systems, support earlier identification of technology weaknesses and bring greater consistency to cyber incident reporting.
