India, Sept. 9 -- The Digital Communications Commission (DCC) has approved key recommendations from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) covering spectrum assignment and pricing for satellite-based commercial communication services.

The decision removes a major regulatory hurdle for satellite broadband operators preparing to launch commercial services in India. Companies including Starlink, Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio Satellite are among those expected to benefit from the framework.
