Samsung shifts India from consumer market to R&D hub
India, Sept. 8 -- Samsung is increasingly positioning India as a technology development base rather than simply a major consumer market, with its teams in the country contributing to global research, product development and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
The shift comes as Samsung marks 30 years in India, having expanded its presence from consumer electronics and manufacturing into research and development, engineering, skills development and innovation.
"Today, we don't look at India just as a market of 1.4 billion people. We see India as a place where the future of technology is being imagined, developed and led," said JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung South West Asia.
