Pine Labs launches AI-driven UPI payments without MPIN step
India, June 12 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) agents can browse products, make recommendations and take decisions independently. However, when it comes to payments in India, they currently face a key limitation: a mandatory human authentication step. UPI transactions require an MPIN or approval designed for human users, effectively halting autonomous transactions at the point of payment.
Against this backdrop, Pine Labs has introduced the Pine Labs Payment Protocol (P3P), a system designed to enable AI agents to complete UPI transactions without requiring human authentication for every payment.
