India, July 23 -- The Centre has ruled out any fresh restructuring exercise for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), stating that the telecom public sector undertaking continues to be supported through measures already put in place to improve its financial position and operational performance.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia said the government is not considering a new restructuring plan for MTNL at present. Instead, the focus remains on implementing the financial and administrative interventions introduced over the past few years.
