India, Oct. 7 -- MediaTek has launched the Dimensity 9600 Pro in India, positioning its 2 nm flagship smartphone chipset around on-device Artificial Intelligence (AI), higher compute performance, gaming, imaging, and lower power consumption.

Unveiled at the MediaTek Tech Day in Delhi on Monday, the Dimensity 9600 Pro uses a 2+3+3 All Big Core central processing unit (CPU) architecture and a dual neural processing unit (NPU).

During the event, MediaTek said consumer AI agents are expected to become a volume driver in an emerging token economy, as smartphone makers move more AI processing onto devices.
