India, Sept. 3 -- Reliance-backed JioHotstar is expanding beyond India into the UK, Canada and Singapore, taking its OTT platform into three markets with established Indian and South Asian diaspora audiences.

JioHotstar is taking its first significant step towards international expansion with launches in the UK, Canada and Singapore, marking a shift in Reliance-owned JioStar's OTT strategy from a predominantly India-focused business towards overseas markets.

For JioStar, the move provides an opportunity to build an international subscriber base and create an additional revenue stream from content already being developed for the Indian market.
