India, March 23 -- The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released its latest report on the monthly performance of Indian telecom operators, covering January 2026. The data shows that Reliance Jio continued to lead subscriber growth, adding nearly 1.6 million new customers. Bharti Airtel followed with an increase of 1.2 million users, while BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) added around 0.4 million subscribers. In contrast, Vodafone Idea (VI), the country's third-largest telecom operator, reported a decline of 0.7 million users.
Jio also expanded its fixed wireless access (FWA) base by 0.25 million users, although this figure excludes UBR (unlicensed band radio) connections, a segment in which it remains the sole provider...
