India, Aug. 30 -- Reliance Jio continues to dominate India's broadband market, but the latest subscriber data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) shows that its lead has narrowed slightly over the past year.

Jio's share of the overall broadband market, combining wireless and wireline broadband subscribers, fell from 50.62% in July 2025 to 48.89% in July 2026. Over the same period, Bharti Airtel's share increased from 31.18% to 35.11%, according to TRAI data.

The shift does not threaten Jio's position at the top. It does, however, point to a more competitive broadband market, with Airtel gaining ground while Jio's share has moderated.
