India, Sept. 23 -- India's Ministry of Defence has signed a Rs 810.79 crore contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) on Wednesday for 160 Satellite Smart Anti-Airfield Weapons (SAT-SAAW) and associated equipment for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The contract was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh under the Buy (Indian - Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) procurement category. The Defence Ministry said the weapons would have 60% indigenous content.

The ministry said the contract covers further indigenisation of subsystems, including the Initial Measurement Unit, Long Impact Delay Fuse, and Twin Store Carrier. The announcement, however, did not provide a breakdown of the cost for t...
