India's digital infrastructure key to Viksit Bharat: President Murmu
India, Aug. 15 -- The President of India Droupadi Murmu highlighted the country's digital infrastructure, digital payments, technology-enabled welfare delivery, start-up ecosystem, and space programme as key elements of the country's development journey towards Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Addressing the nation on the eve of the country's 80th Independence Day, the President said India had developed large-scale digital infrastructure and that digital payments had become common even among small rural shops and street vendors. More than half of the world's real-time digital transactions now take place in India, she said.
