India, May 5 -- India has emerged as one of the most spam-affected markets globally, ranking fifth in spam call intensity during 2025, according to a global insights report on automated calling fraud released by Truecaller.

The report identified over 68 billion spam and fraud calls globally in 2025. Among the 10 markets listed in the report, Indonesia recorded the highest spam intensity at 79%, followed by Chile at 70%, Vietnam and Brazil at 68% each.

India followed with 66% of unknown calls identified as spam or fraud, ahead of Mexico, Uruguay, Nigeria, South Africa, and Italy.
