India, Oct. 7 -- India's data centre infrastructure is entering a new phase of expansion, with more than 200 MW of additional capacity expected to come online in the second half of 2026, taking the country's operational capacity close to 2 GW by the end of the year, according to CBRE.

The expansion comes as data centre operators scale infrastructure to support cloud adoption, AI workloads and broader digital demand. CBRE estimates that India had nearly 1,750 MW of operational data centre capacity at the end of H1 2026, after adding about 130 MW during the first half of the year.
