India, May 8 -- IDEMIA Secure Transactions has introduced a new scheme interoperability solution designed to simplify cross-border payments and allow domestic payment networks and regional digital wallets to extend acceptance beyond their home markets.

The new offering is based on a roaming-style model similar to those used in telecommunications and instant payment systems. It is intended to allow users to make payments abroad using their preferred domestic payment method in much the same way as they would at home.

Domestic payment schemes and regional digital wallets have expanded rapidly in recent years. However, extending these systems internationally remains challenging.
