India, Aug. 7 -- Global smartphone revenue rose 7% year on year (YoY) in Q2 2026 to a record USD 109 billion, despite a decline in shipments, according to Counterpoint Research's latest Market Monitor Service.

The increase in revenue was driven primarily by higher average selling prices (ASPs) and a continued shift towards premium smartphones. Global smartphone ASP rose 17% YoY to USD 400, its highest level for a second quarter.

Counterpoint said broad-based price increases by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), partly linked to higher memory costs, contributed to the rise in ASP. The stronger mix of premium devices also helped offset the decline in overall shipment volumes.
