Fortinet report finds cybercrime accelerating at industrial scale
India, May 11 -- Fortinet has released its 2026 Global Threat Landscape Report, based on telemetry gathered by FortiGuard Labs, offering a detailed picture of global cyber activity during 2025.
The report suggests that cybercrime has evolved into a far more industrialised system. Rather than operating through isolated campaigns, threat actors are increasingly working across a coordinated end-to-end attack lifecycle. In this environment, automation, identity abuse and delays in patching have emerged as the main drivers of impact.
According to Fortinet, 635 vulnerabilities were actively exploited in 2025, while 7,831 organisations worldwide were subjected to ransomware extortion.
