India, Sept. 21 -- Flag, a privately owned subsea cable network is upgrading its capacity on the Echo subsea cable system to support 400GbE and 800GbE services between Asia and North America, as demand for bandwidth from AI, cloud computing and enterprise applications increases across the trans-Pacific corridor.

The company is deploying Ciena's Waveserver platform with WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e) 1.6 Tb/s coherent optics, together with Ciena's Reconfigurable Line System (RLS), on its dedicated fibre pair spanning more than 16,000 km on Echo.
