India, March 17 -- India's digital infrastructure is entering a defining phase. In 2026, the country is expected to see rapid growth in data usage driven by AI and national digital programs. Data centre capacity in India is projected to double from just over one gigawatt today to nearly two gigawatts by the end of 2026, supported by investments of more than six billion dollars.
Over the longer term, total investments are expected to exceed USD 30 billion by 2030. Initiatives such as Digital India, BharatNet, and the India AI Mission are helping extend digital access to underserved regions, thereby increasing the need for faster, more reliable networks.
