India, Sept. 28 -- CtrlS Datacenters is working with Ciena to build five metro networks connecting nine data centres across Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi and Noida, with a combined capacity of up to 100 Tb/s.

The networks are being deployed as part of a larger Managed Optical Fibre Network (MOFN) project for a leading hyperscaler. The deployment is intended to support increasing bandwidth requirements associated with AI and cloud workloads and strengthen connectivity between CtrlS data centres.

The five metro networks will connect facilities across the company's data centre footprint in the five cities, providing high-capacity interconnection for data-intensive workloads.
