India, March 24 -- Cisco has announced a series of security updates aimed at addressing risks associated with the growing use of agentic artificial intelligence (AI), where software systems are designed not only to respond but also to act autonomously. The announcements were made at the RSA Conference 2026 and focus on strengthening identity, access control and threat response across AI-driven environments.
The company said its approach centres on embedding security across the lifecycle of AI agents, including identity verification, Zero Trust access controls, pre-deployment testing, runtime safeguards and enhanced tools for security operations centres (SOCs) to respond to threats more quickly.
