India, Aug. 6 -- Ciena has appointed Prashant Ramesh Malkani to lead its India business. He will report to Amit Malik, Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific, Japan and India at Ciena.

Malkani brings more than 25 years of experience across the telecommunications and technology sectors. Before joining Ciena, he was Head of Nokia India's Network Infrastructure business, where he worked across service provider and enterprise segments.

During his career, Malkani has held leadership roles focused on network development and customer engagement. He holds an MBA in Marketing Management and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
