India, April 9 -- Vodafone Idea has launched its 5G services in Chennai as part of its ongoing network expansion across India. With this rollout, the company's 5G footprint now extends across all major metro markets, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

The Chennai launch forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen presence in regions with high data demand. The company has indicated plans to extend 5G services to several key cities in Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry by May 2026. These include Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Salem, Tiruppur and Vellore.
