India, Oct. 29 -- State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) recorded the highest month-on-month mobile subscriber growth rate among India's four major telecom operators in September 2026, outpacing Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi), according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

BSNL's mobile subscriber base grew by 0.67% during the month, compared with 0.55% for Airtel, 0.53% for Jio and 0.28% for Vi. The figures indicate that BSNL recorded the fastest percentage growth, although its subscriber additions remained lower than those of the two largest private operators.
