India, March 11 -- Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new feature called Kavach Number, aimed at improving digital safety and privacy for women mobile users. The initiative was announced on International Women's Day as part of the telecom operator's efforts to address concerns around the misuse of personal contact details.
According to the company, the Kavach Number allows women to use an alternative 10-digit mobile number instead of sharing their actual phone number in public or commercial settings. The temporary number acts as a protective layer and remains linked to the user's primary BSNL mobile connection.
