India, May 29 -- Asus is positioning itself for the next generation of wireless networking with the launch of the Asus ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro, which the company describes as the world's first Wi-Fi 8 gaming router. The Wi-Fi 8 standard, formally known as IEEE 802.11bn, has yet to be finalised, making the launch an early indication of where home networking technology may be heading.

Unlike previous Wi-Fi generations, which were largely defined by faster peak speeds, Wi-Fi 8 is expected to focus on improving reliability, reducing latency, extending coverage and delivering more consistent real-world performance.
