India, Sept. 9 -- Apple has entered India's business messaging market through a partnership with Reliance Jio, extending Rich Communication Services (RCS) to iPhone users on the Jio network.

Under the arrangement, Jio has introduced Jio Business Messaging, an RCS-based service that enables businesses to send rich, interactive messages to customers using the native messaging applications on supported devices. Jio says it is the exclusive RCS provider for iOS in India.

The move brings Apple into a business messaging segment in India where WhatsApp has established a strong position, while also expanding the reach of RCS beyond Android users.
