Airtel expands 5G coverage across northern India with new site deployments
India, June 10 -- Bharti Airtel has expanded its 5G network across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, adding more than 2,900 sites over the past year as telecom operators continue to strengthen infrastructure in response to rising mobile data consumption.
The expansion covers 77 districts across the four states and union territory, extending network availability to both urban centres and rural areas. According to the company, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to support more than 28.6 million customers across the region.
Airtel said the latest deployments include over 1,066 new sites in Punjab, more than 954 in Haryana, over 276 in Himachal Pradesh, and upwards of 619 in Jammu & Kashmir.
